Hurricane Florence continues to intensify, and has narrowed its approach to the Mid Atlantic states. The storm's slow movement is forecasted to dump catastrophic amounts of rain on regions already saturated with water. The flooding and expected storm damage has already begun to impact short-term fuel supplies in the region, and could reduce the rate of shipments up the Colonial Pipeline to North and South Carolina, and Virginia.
Our supply & logistics teams are watching the situation closely, and we will post updates as warranted. In the meantime, it would be prudent to monitor fuel usage closely and to take as many fuel savings measures as possible over the next several days. Also, remain patient as there are many factors in play when planning deliveries around the ripple effects of this storm and its impact.
We will continue to post updates here on our website blog, as well as within our Fuel Market Daily email.
